Before your session
If this is your first time having a session with me, I will ask you to fill out a health history form. Once that is complete and we chat for a bit about your session goals, then I will leave the room to allow you to undress in private. During your massage, your privacy and dignity will be respected at all times, and you will be securely draped and covered throughout your session. Most people remove all clothing, but you can leave on underwear, I can work through them when I work your glutes (Butt) muscles. Please feel free to communicate with me if you are too hot or cold or uncomfortable in any way and I will adjust things accordingly. For the Myofascial release sessions I ask you to wear shorts for men and shorts and sports bra or a bathing suit for women. No lotion please so I can connect into your skin and use it as handles to access and free up the fascia.

During your session
If you would like to talk during your session we can talk, if you prefer quiet then simply be quiet and I will follow your lead. I will check in with pressure occasionally, you are encouraged to give feedback as to the level of pressure you are comfortable with. I would hate to have you grit your teeth through a session, and never tell me and then not come back because I worked to deep. It is up to YOU to communicate to me your level of comfort. I do use a heated table and warm towels, if you would not prefer to have these please let me know in advance.

After your session
It is very important to drink water after your massage. The water will help rehydrate the body. A headache following a massage could be caused by a variety of factors. A massage can alter the blood flow in your body, causing your blood vessels to constrict and then relax. This change in blood flow could bring on a headache. If you become dehydrated or if your blood sugar drops while you are receiving a massage, these factors could also cause you to develop a headache. Sometimes you can also experience some nausea. Some theories say that toxins that are released are now floating freely in your bloodstream and that can be the cause of your headaches. Whatever the case Please drink water post your massage. THANK YOU

Soreness
You may experience soreness after your session, especially if you had a lot of tension in certain areas. It should not be any worse than if you decided to hit the gym after a long break and worked out hard. It should subside in a day or so. Moist heat will help, as will Epsom Salt baths.

How often should I have a massage?

This is very individual. It depends on what your goals are. Some of my clients come Once a week, some twice a month and some once a month. I have even had some come twice a week for a while, as we were working on certain issues. YOU know your body best, so check in with your body and decide what will work towards your better health. ~NAMASTE~
